Family owned hotels

I consider myself pretty close to my family and now that my work takes me a continent away from them, I try to get whatever semblance of family life I can find in my surroundings. On my week offs I drive to Swindon, a small and booming industrial town in Wiltshire where I frequent at one of several family hotels a rustic yet memorable stay. My wife and I enjoy having a relaxing time whilst the kids go wild, it's the perfect family break.
My favorite is cozying up in the morning to beautifully embroidered linen sheets and having a delectable breakfast served by a friendly smile and warm greetings. I don't have a particular favorite when it comes to picking which family hotel in swindon I chose to stay, I suppose I'll just share some of my great experiences with a few of them so that it's easier to understand why it's hard to pick just one.
The Fox and Hounds is a homey and rustic Inn run by the same family for three generations and counting. They are located just outside Swindon, a few miles off the road from the M4 Motorway. It's a very simple lodge with brick overlay and serene surroundings that are perfect for that quiet getaway. Once you arrive at The Fox and Hounds you are treated to a warm smile and accommodations come with a free breakfast set, although you can arrange for evening meals at no extra cost. For a true family feel then consider staying at the Fox and Hounds. Even Rover the guard dog can stay at no extra cost as pets are allowed.
The School House Hotel is another remarkable hotel experience that you should not pass up. Located int he heart of Hook, a village near Swindon it is one of the most beautiful family owned hotels in the area. The School House Hotel used to be a Victorian School but for the last 20 years has been run as a hotel. This is the perfect getaway for that quiet weekend of just nature appreciation, sleeping in and indulging in life’s simple pleasures. The architecture of School House Hotel is a beauty in itself and must be seen to be truly appreciated.
Another notable mention is the Marsh Farm Hotel. One of the best family hotels Swindon has to offer, the Marsh Farm Hotel is truly captivating. It isn't as idyllic as the smaller Fox and Hounds but it offers a true glimpse of Swindon Hospitality. Beautifully decorated rooms filled with shabby chic will please you aside from outstanding cuisine and a family that runs the hotel with a policy for warmth and smile.
It's funny to hear, but I really enjoy staying in Swindon. I say it's funny because you don't usually associate this busy and bustling industrial town with a nice weekend getaway, however what people don't appreciate is its proximity to some great historical locations (such as Stonehenge, Avebury and Devizes) and the beatiful country that completely surrounds the area. Staying in any of the family hotels in Swindon is a wonderful experience that I recommend to everyone, especially if you want to dial it down and just have the entire weekend to yourself and the kids.
